What makes it so great?

In a design-build relationship, the owner or client chooses one contractor to manage both the design and construction phases of the project. Engaging SBL to complete both of these phases of the project allows for greater continuity throughout the project and a thorough understanding of how to translate the design criteria into the construction reality.

Because we have an in-house design team, we are able to suggest many value engineering options and ways for our clients to ultimately save money on their projects. We are able to design buildings that not only look aesthetically appealing but can be built effectively and will function well for the end user.

Our thorough understanding of construction methods also allows us to offer insight into how to design a project that is practical to execute, thereby preventing the need for costly re-engineering or changes during the construction phase.

Under this method, SBL is responsible for engaging and leading the engineers, trades and consultants, all while maintaining the client and project’s best interests.  This integration of all involved parties with SBL as the team lead results in lower costs, better communication, and an accelerated schedule.

The design-build method allows us to work with a team of our choosing, with whom we have developed lasting relationships. Projects executed in this method benefit from being run by a team that has a history of working together which ensures a quality project is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
